Trends aren’t something I teach my clients to follow. However, I do believe it’s important to know what’s in and out of style, and just as important to keep in line with the seasons as they change. You never know when a new trend might fit into your branded style. Here are 5 new trends for 2017 Spring/Summer:
Style Tip: To make this trend a bit more professional dress it up with a blazer, jeans, and a pair of pumps.
2. Patent Handbags – A trend after my own heart. When I was younger I hated patent shoes but as a lady I LOVE the chic and sophisticated feel of a patent handbag. This is perfect for a woman with a bold boss like personality!
Style Tip: Pairs perfectly with a dress or pair of slacks. This is definitely not the kind of bag you want to wear with your sweats but you can wear it with jeans if you’re dressing them up with a heel.
3. Cork-heeled Sandals – there have a very 60’s, Bohemian, Hipster, kind of feel. They scream summertime fun and they’re known to be pretty comfortable.
Style Tip:The cork-heeled sandal has a dressier feel to it. So wear them with a sundress or use them to dress up a pair of jeans or shorts.
4. Bardot Dresses – this is really just a fancy way of saying off the shoulder dress. They are named after Brigitte Bardot a French actress from the 50’s who made off the shoulder dresses and tops a popular thing.
Style Tip: This style can be dressed up or dressed down. It’s a perfect way to be sexy without showing too much skin. So pair a Bardot top with a pair of fitted pants or a maxi skirt. You can also pair a Bardot dress with sneakers, flats, or a pair of wedged sandals.
5. Suede Mules – This is another 60’s trend that has returned. However this one works for more than just the Bohemian style.
Style Tips: You can wear the suede mule from spring through the start of fall. It can be paired with pieces for a more casual look or with a dress or slacks for something more 9-5
